Common Eye Shapes

Identify your unique geometry. The shape of your eyelid, orbital bone, and corners defines your category.

Almond Eyes

The most versatile shape. Defined by a visible crease and iris that is touched by both the top and bottom lids. It tapers to a point at the outer corner.

Best Feature: Symmetry

Round Eyes

Large and prominent. The cornea is surrounded by white all around, and the corners are less tapered. They appear open, alert, and doll-like.

Best Feature: Prominence

Monolid

Features a flat eyelid surface with no visible crease line. Common in Asian features, this shape offers a smooth canvas for creative, graphic liner looks.

Best Feature: Clean Canvas

Hooded Eyes

An extra fold of skin hangs over the crease, making the eyelid smaller or invisible when the eye is open. Can make eyes appear smaller or sultry.

Best Feature: Intensity

Upturned

The outer corners sit higher than the inner corners, creating a natural "cat-eye" lift. This shape is naturally exotic and youthful.

Best Feature: Natural Lift

Downturned

The outer corners dip slightly lower than the inner corners. This shape often gives a sweet, vintage, or "puppy dog" aesthetic.

Best Feature: Vintage Charm

How Our AI Analyzes Your Eyes

We use advanced computer vision to measure the micro-details of your eyelids and orbital structure in milliseconds.

1

Focus & Snap

Take a clear close-up photo. Look straight into the lens with your eyes relaxed (not widened) for the most natural reading.

Crease Mapping

The AI scans for the presence (or absence) of a visible eyelid crease and measures the skin fold depth above the lash line.

Tilt Calculation

We draw a virtual line between your inner and outer corners (Canthi) to calculate your precise Canthal Tilt angle (Positive vs. Negative).

Eye Shape Detector FAQs

Can I wear glasses in the photo?
No. Frames (especially thick rims) can obscure your eyebrows and the outer corners of your eyes, which are critical landmarks for calculating shape and tilt. Please remove glasses for the most accurate result.
How close should the photo be?
A standard selfie distance (arm's length) is fine, but for the best results, crop the photo so your eyes and eyebrows are the main focus. Ensure you are looking straight at the camera lens, not down at your screen.
Does this work with heavy eyeliner?
It works best on a bare face. Heavy winged eyeliner can artificially change the appearance of your eye shape (e.g., making round eyes look almond). Try to use a photo with minimal or no makeup.
What is "Canthal Tilt"?
Canthal tilt refers to the angle between your inner eye corner and outer eye corner. If the outer corner is higher, it's a Positive Tilt (common in Almond/Upturned eyes). If it's lower, it's a Negative Tilt (common in Downturned/Round eyes).
Is my photo private?
Yes. All processing happens locally in your browser. We never upload, store, or view your photos. Your privacy is 100% guaranteed.
